Game was created for a submission to Game Dev Jam 2023

Theme : Life in two dimensions.

We interpeted the theme to be a game within a game 2 Dimensions - A Zombie shooter in 3D and the second upon death/injury nanobot healing the player back to health to continue fighting the zombies that have almost taken our heros life.

Description

In "NanoRebirth: Survival," immerse yourself in a gripping post-apocalyptic world overrun by hordes of relentless zombies. As a last glimmer of hope, advanced nanotechnology has been harnessed to create powerful healing nanobots. Step into the shoes of a survivor and embark on a harrowing journey to cleanse the world of the zombie menace.

In this action-packed game, every encounter with the undead brings the constant threat of infection. However, with the aid of your trusty nanobots, you can fend off the zombie bites and heal yourself in the heat of battle. 

 "NanoRebirth: Survival" offers an adrenaline-fueled experience where nanotechnology becomes the ultimate lifeline against the encroaching zombie apocalypse. Will you defy the odds and become the savior humanity desperately needs, or succumb to the dark forces that threaten to consume us all? The choice is yours in this epic battle for survival.

How to Play

Zombie Surivial 

  •  WASD > Movement
  • Mouse > Aiming
  • Left Click > Shoot
  • Spacebar > Jump
  • Shift > Run

Nano bot phase

  • WASD > Movment
  • Q: Healing
  • E: Healing

Update 1:

- Fixed the game loop (would not preserve the wave information leading to an infinite game when returning to 3d mode)

- Fixed the spawner mechanic (spawners after the first one or two were not being used)

- Fixed zombie aggression to prevent eternal camping (adding an increasing aggression mechanic)


Update 2 (1.2):

- Fixed the random error in WGL build (WASM) due to an errant try/catch statement :)


Update 3 (1.3):

- YOU COULD NEVER DIE Bug fix


Update 4 (1.4):

- Fixed cursor bug on game over
